NOAA RESTORE Science Program to lead session at RAE/TCS 2016 Summit

At the Restore America’s Estuaries (RAE) and The Coastal Society (TCS) Summit in New Orleans, Louisiana, the NOAA RESTORE Science Program will lead a panel session, “Linking Science and Management in the Gulf of Mexico in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon Oil Spill”. The session will take place on Monday, December 12 from 2:00 – 3:30 PM CT in the St. Charles Ballroom. It will focus on the approaches being taken to link science to resource management, restoration, and community resilience in the Gulf of Mexico by several of the science and restoration initiatives established following the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The panel will include representatives from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation’s Gulf Environmental Benefit Fund, Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Council, RESTORE Act Center of Excellence for Louisiana, Florida RESTORE Act Centers of Excellence Program, and the National Academies’ Gulf Research Program.

The Science Program will also participate in other upcoming conferences including the Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill and Ecosystem Sciences Conference (February 6-9, 2017, New Orleans), the State of the Gulf of Mexico Summit 2017 (March 26-28, 2017, Houston, Texas), and the Gulf of Mexico Alliance All-hands (March 29-30, 2017, Houston, Texas).
